Depression and Anxiety - How Are They Linked?

Depression is the most commonly seen mental disorder in human beings. It is a state of mind where you feel deeply hurt, sad and emotionally touched from within your heart. Whether young or older, all age groups get into the shackles of this mental disorder. Much like depression, anxiety is a mental disorder. It is a state of mind when you want to do things at faster pace than normal.. You may see signs like sweating in your body, dizziness and occasionally chest pain, depending upon the state of this disorder. While effects of anxiety are mostly negative for everyone involved, positive aspects are not to be excluded. One of these is increased performance that in certain cases can nearly double your achievements. It fills positive energy in you to complete your task rather rapidly. But severe forms of Anxiety Disorder are very dangerous for you and others associated with you. You may take decision very quickly without giving too much thought on possible consequences of your actions.

Depression and anxiety, both are linked strongly with each other. Observations show patients suffering from depression have a chance of 70 to 80 percent potential to suffer from anxiety as well and vice-versa. Both of these are commonly observed in youngsters or teenagers. The reason may be drugs, late night parties, improper sleep and improper reactions to stressful situations. These mental disorders are not limited to age groups and signs of depression and anxiety can be found amongst infants as well as older citizens.

Depression may lead you to problems like over sleeping, hopelessness, lamentation, crying, mental breakdowns etc. You become a home of negative thoughts, life becomes miserable. The biggest reason for depression is expectancy of results. Sometimes we get greatly involved in achieving goals and dreams we have set up too high. If for any reason we are unsuccessful in achieving expected results we get depressed. The conditions sometimes become very deadly as there are cases of suicide, which in its core is nothing more than complete loss of control over ones life.

The conditions become very devastating when these two occur in a combination. Your personal relations, public relations, office relations and all other social relations get disturbed. If you do not take positive steps against it then it can become even more dangerous.

It will take over control of your mind and the chances of suicidal attempts become higher. Seeking help is always a wise decision to avoid possible health hazards.

nice article…yeah true…stress leads to anxiety and depression and are generally interconnected…so, adopt changes…changes are always happening so why not change for the better…a healthy lifestyle is one way to go…how you look at things and lead your life determines your well being..so the best thing is to lead a regulated life based on principles coupled with discipline and actually knowing what your goals or priorities are…just in case…do breathing exercises to feel relaxed to get a head start while determining how you’ll approach your life next.
